The words 'slip slidin' away' came to me as I was sitting on a stump near the burn pile. I was eating a plum, soaking up the sun, day dreaming; and I had a sensation that I was slip slidin' away from the life I knew. Slipping through the middle of what was my life; and sliding into a rabbit hole of another. It was a little weird.
Speaking of sitting on a stump eating a plum... I had let my hand drop down with the plum in it. The next thing I knew, a chicken and flown up and pecked the plum right out of it. I did fight the chicken for my plum and won.
I am amazed that I get outside so much when the weather is not so pleasant. And once out, the quiet of the place - in rain, snow, ice, or mud - takes hold. We will see how it goes once there are many more animals to take care of and going out isn't a choice any more. Will keep you posted.

As I write this, the snow is coming down yet again. This is suppose to be the last hurray and spring is on the other side. The beehives have to be painted and prepared for the bees arriving in April. The barn apartment is coming along. If all goes well, we should be moving into the barn the end of March. Then we can move out all the furniture in the barn for the 100 chickens coming. The fence has to be finished for the sheep and goats.
And every day ends with a bottle of beer or a glass of wine - and it is all good......
